Ivo Sarjanovic

Ivo has a BA in Accounting and a Master in Economics.
He started his career in agriculture commodities in 1987 working as a grain analyst in the Rosario Grain Exchange in Argentina.
In 1989 he joined Cargill where he perfomed different trading and management roles in Rosario, Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo and Geneva, where he lives since 1993.
In Cargill Geneva he was the World Trading Manager of Soybeans and Sugar and the Business Unit Leader of Cargill Africa and Middle East.
In 2014 he became the CEO of Alvean, a joint venture between Cargill and Copersucar. Alvean is the biggest sugar trader in the world.
Since 2018 he is an independent director of different companies of the sector and also an advisor in several start ups of the Ag Tech space in South America and Africa.
Ivo teaches Agriculture Commodities in the University of Geneva, Universidad Di Tella and Universidad Austral.
In 2020 he published the book « En desequilibrio » and he has in press another book « Commodites as an asset class in an inflationary environment ».
